Hyderabad, the “city of pearls,” is renowned for its heritage as well as for its biryani and Charminar.

The Asaf Jahi dynasty, often known as the Nizams, lived in Hyderabad and had their official residence there when they were in charge of the state. Chowmahalla Palace gives you a lovely glimpse into their court life.

The Chowmahalla Palace belonged to the Nizams of Hyderabad and served as their formal residence during their time in power.

The Chowmahalla Palace was built in 1950 thanks to Salabat Jung, the fourth Nizam of Hyderabad. Between 1857 and 1869, Nizam Afzar-ud-Dawla Bahadur, the fifth Nizam of Hyderabad, oversaw its completion. The construction process nearly took a century to finish.

The palace was opened to public visits in January 2005 and has been one of the top tourist places to visit in Hyderabad. On 15 March 2010, the UNESCO Asia Pacific Merit award for cultural heritage conservation was presented to the Chowmahalla Palace.
